Good Morning Parents, we have received a few questions regarding the fully online versus blended learning option. Please note the following:
1) School hours, for both online and in person learning, will be from 8am-12:30pm. This will continue until further updates from the ministry.
2) We will be making sure that all siblings attend school on the same days of the week. We understand that parents are struggling with organizing rides and childcare and hope this will help.
3) There will be some specialty classes taking place, both in school and online, such as Art. For these in person classes, teachers will be working within MoE guidelines of not sharing equipment and supplies, to provide adapted lessons to the students. Other classes that cannot avoid shared equipment, such as computer labs, are not being provided at this time. Also, we are unable to offer PE at the moment due to Covid-19 restrictions.
4) In regards to the teachers, we are working to get them here as quickly as possible. Some are still in Canada waiting on entry permits or their flight dates, some are here in quarantine already and we also have new teachers out of quarantine and working in person at the school already. For any teachers that are unable to be in class, students will be supervised under the direction and guidance of their regular teachers.
Please keep in mind that we do need your decisions submitted by 6pm this evening in order for administration and teachers to prepare for classes next week and provide you your child(ren)s schedule by Thursday. In case we have not received your answer by the deadline, your child(ren) will be placed in the blended learning option.
