Blyth Academy Leadership Team

Sam Blyth was educated at Pembroke College, Cambridge BA(Hons) MA and holds an Honorary Fellowship at the College and is a member of the Vice Chancellor’s Circle. He is the Founder and Chair of Blyth Academy, Chair of the Bhutan Canada Foundation and Honorary Consul General for the Kingdom of Bhutan to Canada.
He is CEO of Blyth Academy Qatar.


Patrick Shaw is the Managing Director of Blyth Academy Qatar and is a Director of U.S. based Templeton Academy. He has acted as President and/or CEO of several education and travel companies and maintains directorships across both industries. Previously he served as Manager of Canada’s first European-based university program in Nice, France. Pat has a B.A. from the University of Toronto, a Masters degree from the London School of Economics and an M.B.A. from Western University.


Darlene Sullivan, Blyth Academy’s Head of School, has been an educator for over 30 years and has held numerous leadership positions during her career. Darlene holds a Bachelor of Child Studies Degree, a Bachelor of Education Degree and a Master of Education from Mount St. Vincent University. She is a seasoned and learned administrator who is innovative, compassionate and a strategic visionary. Darlene is a community builder who has been successful in leading school communities to reach their academic goals, vision and mission.


Awj Khalil, Blyth Academy’s Business Development Manager brings with him extensive 20 years of managerial skills. He directed departments such as sales, marketing, operations, finance and business development to their full potential which eventually led him to be a General Manager. Awj had overseen number of international airlines operations, making it possible for these airlines to grow their market, revenue and presence within GCC region.
